i have read few books of this type and genre and i have to say this this book is one of if not my main favirote! many others have portrayed bdsm in one form or another but out of the few of this and few others has been the most accurate portrayal of bdsm in book form though i have much to learn still about it though and this book has many lessons in it for people to learn if they look in to it deep enough :) i am a male person i connected deeply with the two main characters in this book deeply mainly julia in regards to the trust issues and not having alot of reliable peoples in my life untill recently within last few years or so but i also connect with alexendra on alot of deep levels too as we both are dominant in our personality types though i have ways to go before id call my self that fully and openly but point being i relate to both characters on deep personal levels which made this book all that more special to me and i ended up trying to take my time through it but ended up devouring my way through it anyway giggles i wish there would be more stories as im not ready to say goodbye to these characters but i can deff say this shadow haven will be reread along with others many times and also i loved the island and the privacy they had from the world it was perfect keep up the amazing work aj schippers
